As part of an ongoing program to increase bed count, Albany Medical Center decided to renovate two administrative hospital floors into general medical/surgical patient units. Each floor, configured in a 'T'-shaped layout to provide maximum visual control, includes 10 double patient rooms and one single patient room. Two satellite nurses' stations at opposite ends of the unit allow staff to provide increased care.
