“Every building deserves the maximum amount of artistic exploration with a considered, deliberate approach. We seek to create spaces which impart feelings that you’re a participant in something exceptional, where function leads to calm, awe or inspiration. Our core values strive to convey that quality in every project we touch, from the modest to the extravagant.” ~Fredrick Franko, Director of Design
With a 50% increase in patient visits the Urological Institute program needed to expand. Hyman Hayes Associates was asked to design the new clinic in the adjacent two-story medical office building.
The new clinic has 16 exam rooms as well as three procedure rooms, clinical support, instrument processing room, two nurses’ stations, two satellite physician stations, and office space for 25 staff in addition to the already existing offices. The clinic’s check-in and waiting area were located immediately adjacent to the entry and pushed to the front to take advantage of the natural light. This allowed the exam rooms to be located along the entire rear corridor, with triage and the lab centrally located for easy access for all patients. The procedure rooms were separated into a private self-contained suite off the main exam room corridor. Selected staff work areas and break room were located at the end of the floor, away from the patient areas. Physician, mid-level, and clerical support spaces were located on the second floor. The office layouts were designed such that when the remaining tenants leave the space they can seamlessly be incorporated into the Urology area.
