“Every building deserves the maximum amount of artistic exploration with a considered, deliberate approach. We seek to create spaces which impart feelings that you’re a participant in something exceptional, where function leads to calm, awe or inspiration. Our core values strive to convey that quality in every project we touch, from the modest to the extravagant.” ~Fredrick Franko, Director of Design
To fit out a floor, which had been left as shell space during an earlier surgery center construction.
Entry to the physician’s office is through a two-story atrium that features wood paneled walls, a custom stair with a stainless steel and glass railing, and a sculpted second floor landing that seems to float in space. The atrium colors and materials provide a soothing atmosphere and are continued into specialty physicians’ offices as well. The suite contains three separate specialties: endocrinology, pain management, and wound care. The primary design challenge was to provide easy to understand wayfinding as well as an open inviting layout. This was achieved by providing glass entry doors into the suite, a centrally located open waiting area immediately visible from the entrance, and an open reception/registration area adjacent to waiting. A continuous suspended soffit also adds to a more intimate setting. The curving reception layout maximizes visibility for patients entering and staff monitoring the waiting areas. A skylight provides natural light and is an organizing feature helping to draw patients into the waiting area. The suite has received many complements, achieving Press-Gainey scores ranking the facility in the 94th percentile for patient satisfaction, and the 96th percentile for patient comfort.
