Creedmoor Psychiatric Facility Multi-Year Renovation

For this month’s education presentation, Project Manager Jordan Kacur gave insight into one of HHA’s current projects: Creedmoor Psychiatric Facility, located in Queens, NY.

The 18-story hospital will maintain facility operations throughout the multi-year construction process. Jordan explained how behavioral health projects have unique challenges and how designers can help alleviate facility concerns about patient safety by creating a detailed construction phasing schedule.

One necessary - but innovative part of the project - will use an exterior hoist system (outside elevator) to reduce impacting staff and patients by allowing materials/contractors access to the building from a separate entrance.
