“Every building deserves the maximum amount of artistic exploration with a considered, deliberate approach. We seek to create spaces which impart feelings that you’re a participant in something exceptional, where function leads to calm, awe or inspiration. Our core values strive to convey that quality in every project we touch, from the modest to the extravagant.” ~Fredrick Franko, Director of Design

  • Project Request:

To design and coordinate construction of the new floating floor at Bouck Hall’s Iorio Gymnasium.

  • Project Solution:

The floor was at the end of its service life with an old, yellowing, inconsistent finish. Other problems included poor acoustics, and inaudible sound system, and uncomfortable temperature and humidity levels during events. The gymnasium is used for basketball and volleyball competition as well as athletic practices, orientations, laser tag, transitions, and graduations. Hyman Hayes provided designs for a new floating wood athletic floor, acoustic treatments, and AV. The HVAC system was also upgraded. The campus now proudly holds hosts athletic competitions and other events in its rejuvenated gymnasium.
