We became involved at the recommendation of the design architect with our role focused on providing construction administration services. But, with an urgent need to begin construction, our role was quickly changed to include developing the final design drawings.
HHA has completed a number of projects for Saratoga Hospital at their Wilton Ambulatory Care Center. In 1998 Saratoga Hospital began development of the outpatient care center in a highly accessible and growing area of Saratoga County. The Hospital structured the initial project as a design/build endeavor, with a Boston area architectural firm responsible for preparing a conceptual design and outlining bid specifications. The project was fast-tracked and with only a short time to flesh out the design. We did not propose major design changes but worked closely with the Hospital’s project manager and the design architect to refine and finalize the project’s design. We also worked with the contractor to ensure delivery of the updated drawings did not impact the construction. We did, however, recommend the addition of an entry canopy to provide better visual focus for the entrance and a place for patients to wait for pick-ups in inclement weather. The Ambulatory Care Center which provides urgent care, radiology, physical therapy, and laboratory testing has routinely exceeded the Hospital’s business projections. As a result, has undergone several modifications and upgrades of services and aesthetics. Since this first involvement, HHA has designed an expansion of the women’s center, an addition of MRI and PET/CT capabilities, and most recently expansion of the urgent care area. As part of the most recent renovations the entire facility was given a facelift to upgrade finishes. The women’s center was transformed into a spa-like setting with warm finishes and a water wall feature.
